Abstracts are limited to 400 words, not including title or section headings.

Longer abstracts and incomplete forms will NOT be accepted.

Friday, February 20, 2026: submissions by this date will receive priority consideration with a notification of acceptance status by Tuesday, February 24, 2026.

Friday, March 6, 2026: abstract submission closes.

Friday, March 13, 2026: final notification of abstract acceptance status.

All oral presentations will be limited to 10 minutes or 15 minutes (please choose, below), with 5 additional minutes for discussion after each presentation.

Abstracts may be structured (Introduction, Methods, Results, Conclusions) or narrative.

Submit via the Cogan website only. You will receive acknowledgement of receipt within a few days.

The Cogan Ophthalmic History Society provides a scholarly forum for presentation and discussion of research on the history of ophthalmology and its associated fields. Organized in memory of David Glendenning Cogan, a pioneer in the study of history of ophthalmology, the Society sponsors a yearly meeting.
